Hello and welcome to the Round Up – Week 17 post for Quote Quest.
This week it is time to welcome back the lovely Bee again as our round up guest <3 You can check out their blog here.
I can’t believe it’s my turn to write the round up again already. I say that like it’s a bad thing, I love reading all the entries but whittling them down to just three is so hard!
Blue Submission – Happy Slut
This made me a little sad and it’s something that resonated with me too. Being judged for enjoying pleasure seems so backwards and yet it’s what AFAB people have to deal with so often. But I’m so glad she is happy in who she is now and isn’t listening to those who make those judgements. Life is made for living and not feeling shame.
Floss Liddell – Judgements, shame and being respectable (all suck)
The emotions I felt as I read through this piece, I know all of what Floss said is true and have both experienced it and witnessed it myself and I still felt so angry reading this. I cannot understand how people can be vilified based on their genitals for enjoying the same thing.
Violet Grey – No shame in this house
I was nodding along to this right from the first crack of knuckles. The inequality makes me want to scream. But what I really loved about this was Violet’s Grandfathers reaction, whilst it might not have been the perfect reaction, I think it’s exactly how my Grandfather would have reacted and that warmed my heart.
Thanks again to Bee for being the Round Up Week 17 guest <3 You can check out other round up posts here
The post for next week’s prompt is live – you can check out Quote Quest Week 16 here and closes on Wednesday at 11pm GMT.
I look forward to seeing what you all do with it!
