Hello and welcome to the Round Up – Week 20 post for Quote Quest.

This week we have the the very lovely Sassy Sub Daily as our round up guest for week 22 <3 You can check out their blog here.

My life is very unbalanced at the moment and as a result, I wasn’t even able to post for the week I was asked to do the roundup. However, I did enjoy reading all of your posts and thank you for your insights on how you try to maintain balance.

Coffee and Kink – How to Maintain Balance When Everything is On Fire

“If you’re feeling stressed, stretched, and overwhelmed, it might be because there are too many demands on your time and energy right now. Practice saying no.”

I appreciated Amy’s helpful tips on maintaining balance when the world “is on fucking fire” as she put it. She talked about rest, exercise, masturbating and more. But the one tip that stood out to me was just saying no. I think everyone is a bit stressed these days so her tips are definitely worth a read.

Victoria Blisse – Stop To Carry On

“Self care isn’t all bubble baths and chocolate cake. It can be tasks that make your heart ache.”

Victoria wrote a poem and these two lines have remained ingrained in my head. In fact, maybe, it should be a quote that others dwell on. I think it’s important to realize that self care isn’t always pretty. It’s messy. It’s time consuming. And oftentimes, you probably don’t want to do it because it can mean facing your inner demons. But it’s necessary to continue moving forward in life.

Alethea Hunt – Alpine Mountain Biking

“When children are small, this time is expected and you balance it out against your whole lifetime together, but when your child is twelve and still needing this amount of “quality time” it feels like you are being dragged out of balance.”

I really appreciate Alethea’s honesty in the post. This post really got to me as I have many friends who have children with disabilities and I’ve also worked with children with both physical and mental disabilities. She expressed her love for her children and husband, but also the difficulties in maintaining balance. And the fact that she is able to maintain some semblance of balance amongst the challenges she faces makes her seem like superwoman to me.

Thanks again to Sassy for being the Round Up Week 22 guest <3 You can check out other round up posts here

The post for next week’s prompt is live – you can check out Quote Quest Week 23 here and closes on Wednesday at 11pm GMT.
