Hello and welcome to the Round Up – Week 35 post for Quote Quest.
This week we have the very lovely Tabitha Rayne as our round up guest for week 35 <3 You can check out her blog here.
I found all the entries this week really fascinating. Not one didn’t get me thinking in new ways about love being blind. A fantastic selection of posts to peruse and I was well chuffed to be asked to pick the top 3! It took me right up to the deadline to figure this out!
An Ode to Sweet Collarbones – Victoria Blisse
When I saw the title of this post, I knew 100% it was going to be one of my choices. Even when I go back to look through the posts now, I get chills looking at the thumbnail! When I’m editing other people’s work, I’m always looking for that lush phrase, or mix of words that I’ve never read before and An Ode to Sweet Collarbones definitely hit that spot! And then, when I opened it up to find a gorgeous poem, I was in heaven. Thank you Victoria! “Crowning the gentle curve of neck to shoulder,” I mean, *swoon*!
Love is blind(ish) – Morag Musings
This was really thought provoking for me. A very interesting take on the love being blind theme. Morag explored the perspective that love makes you turn a blind eye to things that may annoy you in others. This sent me down a really deep rabbit hole. Like, what would you put up with or ignore purely because of love? How far would that blindness go? Fascinating.
Love Blind – LittleSwitchBitch
Our host, LSB! Love Blind. Now I am an absolute sucker for stories exploring the exhilaration of the teenage energy. How everything is so keen and in such exquisite sharp focus. I love how LSB describes this, her journey of trying to recreate teen infatuation and having to come to terms with knowing it could never be. And in this post, LSB disagrees with love being blind, she explains that you need to pull away from the situation and really look to be sure it’s what you really need. I was like, Oooo interesting…
Thanks again to Tabitha for being the Round Up Week 35 guest <3 You can check out other round up posts here
The post for next week’s prompt is live – you can check out Quote Quest Week 36 here and closes on Wednesday at 11pm GMT.
I look forward to seeing what you all do with it!
