Hello and welcome to the Round Up – Week 37 post for Quote Quest.

This week we welcome back the lovely Julie from Master’s pleasing bitch  as our round up guest for week 37 <3 You can check out her blog here.

This is my second Quote Quest round up. My first one after week 4 and I’m so glad LSB has asked me back in week 37 (wow that’s gone more quickly than I’d imagined). But down to the task in hand.

Floss Liddell – [Life] Music, Memories & A Mosh Pit Belly

Music has been a really important part of my life and I found myself nodding along as I read Floss’s post: [Life] Music, Memories & A Mosh Pit Belly! Our musical tastes often come from those who have influenced us as children and adolescents. But also, we need to respect and accept that we won’t always like the same stuff, and that’s ok. Music gives the opportunity to express ourselves in the way that is right for us in the moment.

“While we both enjoy music and listen to it together fairly often, I don’t think we use it to express our softer feelings and I’m good with that. I’ve had whole albums ruined by past relationships, where for whatever reason I just can’t untie the memories that exist between the music and the past.”

Coffee and Kink – I need noise

It has been a year of social and noise deprivation. As Amy from Coffee and Kink writes, the quietness of life around us is unrelentless. Like Amy I’m ready to do things I don’t even like doing, just to be there with people and noise and the vibrations of sound:

“I want the kind of place where you have to shout to be heard. Where the music thumps so loud and heavy that I can feel it rising through the floor and throbbing in my legs, my stomach, my cunt. I want somewhere I can be anonymous, one of a crowd.”

I also want to be there when Amy is first on the dancefloor at a sex club, pulling off her dress to reveal her fabulous lingerie. Let’s hope it happens soon!

Focused and Filthy – Back to Sax

My third choice is Missy of Focused and Filthy. I am in awe of the beautiful images she produces and shares with us. The image in her post Back to Sax is stunning and her words are poignant. I’m in awe of people who are able to play musical instruments and do so into adulthood. The events of this past year have affected people in different ways:

“Unfortunately, due to Covid I haven’t played with the band for over a year, and I’ve turned my back on music at home. It hasn’t been a comfort like it has to some. To me it’s just a reminder of everything I’m missing at the moment.”

I so hope Missy gets back to playing soon and her world and ours can be filled with the sounds of live music and beautiful vibes.

Thanks again to Julie for being the Round Up Week 36 guest <3 You can check out other round up posts here
